Coconut Rice
Creamy, aromatic rice cooked with fresh coconut milk and spices.
Ingredients
- 2 cups Johari Pishori rice
- 1 cup coconut milk
- 2 tablespoons ghee
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, diced
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Heat ghee in a pot and sauté garlic and onions until fragrant.
- Add rice and stir for 2 minutes to lightly toast.
- Pour in coconut milk and 3 cups water, bring to a boil.
- Cover and reduce heat, simmer for 15 minutes until water is absorbed.
- Let rest for 5 minutes, then fluff with a fork.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot.
Fried Rice
Quick and easy stir-fried rice with vegetables and egg.
Ingredients
- 3 cups cooked Johari Pishori (day-old)
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, beans)
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 green onions, chopped
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large wok or skillet over high heat.
- Add beaten eggs and scramble until cooked, then set aside.
- Add rice and stir-fry for 3 minutes, breaking up clumps.
- Add vegetables and stir-fry for 2 minutes.
- Pour in soy sauce and toss well to combine.
- Add eggs back and toss. Garnish with green onions and serve.
Spiced Pilau
Fragrant rice infused with traditional spices and meat.
Ingredients
- 3 cups Johari Pishori rice
- 600g beef, cubed
- 4 tablespoons ghee
- 2 onions, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons pilau spice mix
- 3 cups beef broth
Instructions
- Heat ghee and brown beef on all sides, then remove.
- Sauté onions and garlic until golden.
- Add spices and toast for 1 minute.
- Add rice and stir for 2 minutes.
- Return beef, add broth, cover and simmer for 25 minutes.
- Let rest 5 minutes, then fluff and serve with lime wedges.
Vegetable Rice Bowl
Healthy and nutritious vegetable-packed rice bowl.
Ingredients
- 2 cups Johari Pishori rice
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 1 carrot, julienned
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
Instructions
- Heat sesame oil in a pan and stir-fry vegetables for 3 minutes.
- Add cooked rice and teriyaki sauce.
- Toss well and cook for 2 minutes more.
- Divide into bowls and serve hot.
- Optional: Top with sesame seeds and green onions.
